Where the names come from
The month names (Wolf, Snow, Worm and so on) are the ones popularized by North American almanacs, drawn from Native American, colonial and European traditions. Other cultures use different names, and the Chinese lunar calendar counts months from each new moon instead.
What full moons mean in astrology
A full moon is traditionally read as a peak or completion: something started around the previous new moon comes to light. The sign and house where it falls in your chart is said to show which area of life is highlighted. The eclipse full moons in February and August are given extra weight, especially the August 17 one on the Leo and Aquarius axis (see Eclipses 2027).
Full moons and other 2027 events
The February 20 full moon falls during the first Mercury retrograde of the year (February 9 to March 3; see Mercury retrograde 2027). The new moon of February 6 starts the Year of the Fire Goat, so the Snow Moon two weeks later is the first full moon of the Chinese lunar year.

Twelve, one in each month, so there is no calendar Blue Moon in 2027. The first is the Wolf Moon on January 22 and the last is the Cold Moon on December 13.
Which 2027 full moons are eclipses?
Three: February 20 in Virgo, July 18 in Capricorn and August 17 in Aquarius. All three are penumbral lunar eclipses, and the July one is too shallow to notice.
Why are there two full moons in Scorpio in 2027?
The April 20 full moon happens just after the Sun enters Taurus, so the Moon is at the very start of Scorpio. The May 20 full moon happens just before the Sun leaves Taurus, so the Moon is at the end of Scorpio.
